New term eek
Will Spotify’s free streaming come to an end?
I hope not coz that and wham bars seem to be the only thing keeping me going.
We have plenty of work.
But it’s all very exciting- particularly with Steve Henry giving us briefs and workshops.
So far we have worked on Dulux and Young’s seafood and currently doing some Oxfam stuff.
And it’s brilliant.
And I like the fact that Steve Henry thinks we’re scruffy.
We wouldn’t be proper students if we were not.

Rant time
In our advertising classes with Julie, we are always told to rant about something-
something annoying, pointless or ugly in the hope that this will trigger some creative solution-
a key to advertising we’re told and I believe to be true.
Last year we had rants about facebook and people’s self obsession and verbal diarrhoea
And how the hard bit at the top of toothpaste doesn’t allow enough toothpaste to come out.
A squidgy top was the solution.
A fair point indeed when divorces can revolve around toothpaste antics.
A real marriage saver perhaps.
So in preparation for a new new term at uni, I will be considering such things.
And one came up about two days ago and really got me angry.
Since when has the past tense of ‘to buy’ been ‘brought’?
- it isn’t and never will be.
so many times I’ve heard friends tell me how they ‘brought a top from topshop today’
‘brought it where?’ I ask
‘Topshop’
‘You brought a top from topshop and brought it back to topshop?’
‘Err I’m confused. I’m wearing it now.’
So spelling and mispronounciation will always be something I can’t ignore.
It really makes me angry inside.
Like when my dad pronounces my nephews name as Josssua and completely misses out the ‘sh’ in it.
Or when we had the whole ordeal of UCAS, twice for me coz I’m a uni drop-out, so had to put up with him saying
‘OOooCAS’ instead of appreciating the big capital ‘U’ in it.
Very annoying.
So hopefully at least once a month a new piece of annoying content will grace this screen
and provide me with something to stew on and think up an amazing solution.
I can only hope.
